GNSS
This session will have presentation on the changes taking place
in the Global Navigation Satellite System, modernization of GPS
programme, the replenishing of GLONASS and the run up to the
Galileo.
GNSS Interoperability
The session will focus on GNSS system performance, combined system
performance, signal modeling and measurements, interference modeling
and measurements, vulnerability analysis.
Augmentation System
The session will also have presentation on accuracy, integrity,
availability, and continuity performance for wide area augmentation
systems (WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS, GAGAN, GRAS, etc.), civil or military
precision landing system architectures (LAAS, JPALS, etc), GBAS,
extension of GBAS to a wider coverage region, interoperability
between augmentation systems.
Locational Intelligence
The miniaturization, mass production and large scale usage of the
positioning chipsets has resulted into a new array of applications
for business segment. The use of location data is leading to numerous
applications to track vehicles, children, convicts, etc. This session
would bring out the manner in which business processes are finding
use in locational intelligence.
Vehicle Navigation
This session would capture the fast changing scenario in the automobile
sector that offers huge opportunity in the GPS aided navigation.
In the present day scenario, this usage of PNT is closest to the
general public and has substantial amount of awareness too amongst
the masses on the benefits offered by it.
Fleet Management
Use of satellite positioning system in the fleet management is
becoming a norm due to the benefit being realized on this account.
The session will talk on the case studies, status, future opportunities
of fleet management system.
Location Based Services
Location is a strategic asset of wireless carriers. Leveraging
this information enables the user to experience value-added services
and the mobile network operator to offer differentiation and incremental
profitability. One of the most powerful ways to personalize mobile
services is based on location like location based information,
location based billing, emergency services, tracking and so on.
The session will talk on the growing opportunities, new market
segments, application and its interoperability with GNSS technology.
Aviation
One of big beneficiary of satellite positioning and navigation
technology will be aviation sector, which looks forward to do away
with the current Instrument Landing System and replace them with
positioning system augmented with ground and space based system.
WAAS, MSAS, QZSS and GAGAN are some of the initiatives in this
direction. This session would have presentation on the current
initiatives & developments in this area of application.
Defense and Security
The GPS has evolved from its military roots to an ideal example
of dual-use technology. Today GPS plays a key role in the defense
and security services. Defense equipments , which requires real
time or post event data of position, velocity and time, works effectively
with GPS. New technologies are being developed to integrate GPS
into the system in order to improve its robustness and integrity
of the defense equipments. The session will discuss and deliberate
on technologies that are being developed to exploit the optimal
usage of GPS for defense and security.
Emerging Technologies
High accuracy GPS positioning has been put to use for tectonic,
earthquake, volcano, Earth rotation, sea-level, satellite altimetry,
glaciology, meteorology, global climate, ionosphere, hydrology
and ecology studies, engineering, surveying, resource management,
time transfer for telecommunications systems and weather forecasting.
GPS network is being used for a variety of multidisciplinary geosciences
applications while others are also emerging. The session will have
presentation on the upcoming technologies in the field of GPS.
Atmospheric Effects on GNSS
High level of precision can reached after the removal or mitigation
of many error sources in GPS signal, including those induced by
the atmospheric effect on the incoming GPS signal. Modelling of
these signals can help reduce the error and help in giving precise
location. The session will highlight on the ionospheric and tropospheric
effects on signals, measurements, real-time estimation, error sources
and reduction.
Agriculture Application
The session will highlight on precision farming, soil sampling,
yield monitoring, chemical and fertilizer applications and control
of machinery.
Surveying and Geodesy
The session will talk on the applications of GNSS and other sensors
in the field of engineering surveying, land surveying, machine
guidance, change detection of measurement systems, applied and
advanced geodesy, earth rotation, crustal deformation and coastal
processes.
Marine Vessel Management
The session will talk of the relevance to lockage efficiency of
satellite-based vessel tracking systems, automatic identification
systems (AIS), vessel tracking services, and vessel traffic management
systems. Also, technologies necessary to implementing a vessel
tracking system.
