SiRF Losses Deepen in First Quarter
SiRF Technology sunk deeper into red ink in the first quarter (Q1) of 2008, posting a net loss of $28.1 million, or 47 cents per diluted share. It is the second straight quarter of net loss for the GPS chip maker.


Russia launches European navigation satellite
The European navigation satellite Galileo GIOVE-B launched by Russia will be the part of the projected navigation system to be operated by the European space agency.

GPS Market Reaches Turning Point
Research firm Gartner said by 2010 there will be a roughly five times increase in the number of cell phones equipped with GPS features.
